The Irish Supercars Powered By Pirelli took to the Kildare circuit, Mondello Park for their last two domestic rounds of the 2017 championship.  Alan Dawson in the Seán Woods Racing prepared car lead the championship heading into the Leinster Trophy weekend.  Peter Barrable needed to continue on from his dominant form last month in Kirkistown Co. Down.  Qualifying went well for Barrable, out performing Alan Dawson by over 2 seconds with series organiser Alan Kessie from ASK Racing qualifying in 3rd.

Race 1 saw a change in weather conditions and there was no doubt in the teams minds which set-up to race on. It was extremely wet.  The race finished for the top three in qualifying order from Pat McBennett, Gary Corcoran and Ray Finnegan.

Race 2 gridded up on Sunday afternoon.  Again Peter Barrable had a great start to lead the pack off the line.  Alan Dawson applied pressure however there was no real answer to the ‘on form’ Barrable.  Barrable led them over the finish line to take his second victory of the weekend, together with fastest lap.  Dawson finished in 2nd with Gary Corcoran taking the final place on the podium.  Making his debut in the class, Pat McBennett came in a solid 4th.
