World Record Shattered By Montoya In Bugatti Chiron

The Bugatti Chiron has broken the world record for the fastest 0-400kph and then to a dead stop run, achieving the feat in 41.96sec.  The Chiron driven by Juan Pablo Montoya at the wheel of the hyper car.  The Colombian racing driver who has competed in Formula 1 and is two times Indy 500 champion said; “It is really impressive how stable the car is. Its acceleration and braking are simply incredible. It was all quite easy. Just get in and drive off.”  Montoya chose not to wear protective clothing or a race helmet for the daring challenge.

The record run was overseen by automotive technology company SGS-TÜV Saar

Montoya said: “Of course, the Chiron is a super sports car that requires your full attention when you are behind the wheel. At the same time, it gave me such a feeling of security and reliability that I was entirely relaxed and really enjoyed myself during my two days with the car.”  “It really was incredible to see that you didn’t need the complex preparations we have to make in racing for the 0-400-0 drive,” he added.

Bugatti is showcasing the record-breaking car at the Frankfurt motor show this week; a special-edition car with number 42 on its grille will be shown.
