Dublin, Ireland – Wednesday 2nd August 2017: British Formula Ford Champion and multiple Formula Ford Festival winner Niall Murray will join Century Motorsport this weekend to make his British GT debut at the famous Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

One of the leading young racing drivers in Ireland at present, Murray has been a winner and champion in almost every car he’s driven in recent years. Last year he re-wrote the history books winning pretty much everything he entered from the British Formula Ford Championship right through to taking the trio of Formula Ford Trophy race titles in an unprecedented sequence of dominance. However the Irishman had a burning desire to have a taste of endurance racing, with his first outing at the Silverstone 24 Hours earlier this year in a Ginetta G50.

Enjoying the event, Murray is now set for his next challenge, teaming up with former British GT4 Champions Century Motorsport for the final two rounds in one of Europe’s most popular GT Championships. Niall will join forces with Danish driver Jacob Mathiassen, who has been competing in the full series this year. Having shown front running pace on a number of occasions, many see this new line up as a formidable force that could be set to spring a surprise at the end of two hours of racing next Sundayafternoon.

Niall Murray – #43 Century Motorsport Ginetta G55 GT4:
“I’m absolutely thrilled to get this opportunity with Century Motorsport. I’ve wanted to do some GT racing for a long time and am very excited that finally the right deal has been put in place. Brands Hatch and Donington have been two of my most favourite and most successful circuits so I’m really looking forward to getting on track on Saturday! Thanks to Nathan [Freke] and Paul [Grogan] from Century, all my sponsors and everybody else who made this happen!”

Nathan Freke – Team Principal, Century Motorsport:
“Niall is a driver we’ve been well aware of since his successful time in the Ginetta Juniors and he was always a front runner there. Since then he’s had plenty of success so we are delighted that he has decided to join up with us for his British GT debut. Our GT4 season has been a little up and down this year, but hopefully we’ve had our share of bad luck now and I really believe Jacob and Niall have the talent to run at the sharp end this weekend.”
