Motorcycle Airbag supplier Airvest partner with Masters Superbike Championship

The Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship has announced a new partnership with Motorcycle Airbag protection specialists Airvest, the sole Irish agents for Helite, Europe’s largest manufacturer of Motorcycle Airbags.

From 2020 Airvest will be the official airbag partner of the Dunlop Masters Superbike Championship and will have the sole rights to market their range of ACU approved Airbag protection systems through the championship and at all Mondello Park Motorcycle Track Days.

With airbag technology now becoming more accessible to Race, Trackday and Road motorcyclists all riders should be considering the use of Airbag protection. Airbag systems have a proven track record of reducing injuries in accidents, both Track and Road, and the Masters Superbike Championship has committed to working with Airvest to increase the number of Masters competitors and Track Day motorcyclists adopting the new technology.

The Helite GP air, which is approved by the ACU for race use, will be available to try out prior to purchasing through Airvest’s local agent Mark Downes of Maynooth Cycles. Mark will support the new partnership through rental and sales of Helite vests pre-season and throughout the year starting from the Masters Superbike Championship pre-season test weekend in mid March.

Announcing the partnership Masters Superbike Championship manager Fergus Brennan said, “With Airbag technology becoming such an important part of Motorcycle safety we have been working for a while now with Peter Riley from Airvest to find the best way to bring that technology into the championship on a much broader scale. We are really happy to now be able to announce this partnership and are looking forward to supporting Peter and Mark in their efforts to increase airbag use at race and track day events at Mondello Park.”

Speaking of the new partnership Airvest Director Peter Riley said, “Airvest are delighted to partner with the 2020 Masters Superbike Championship and with Mondello Park’s Motorcycle Track Days and we are looking forward to working to increase the levels of safety for competitors and track day riders. By offering customers the opportunity to sample our air bag products prior to purchasing, we hope to increase awareness amongst enthusiasts of the outstanding safety capability of Helite’s large capacity airbags.”

As part of the partnership Airvest will be offering some trackside discounted rates on their GP Air Track Vest to all registered Masters Superbike Championship riders.
