The Polish Rally has be dropped from the WRC’s 2018 Calendar, being replaced by Turkey.  The 2018 championship will be a 13 round schedule.

Following from last weeks WRC commission meeting and the FIA’s firm line on spectator safety, the decision was taken to pull the rally following several breaches of safety rules at this years June event.

The breaches were primarily ill-disciplined  and over enthusiastic spectators putting themselves and drivers at risk.  The rally was on a so called ‘yellow card’ leading into the 2017 event.

The Turkish rally is expected to run in September next year, leaving an event vacuum for July.
