Rapid Cole Takes Podium At Leinster Kart Club’s Round 4

Leinster Kart Club held their round 4 of the winter championship in Athboy Kart Club last weekend. To say it was a tough day would be an understatement, with heavy downpours which left the track very wet and greasy, Kayls Cole struggled but had a good day in the end!

Heat1- saw Cole start P4 on the grid.. as the grid went around in there formation lap coming the start line Coles kart started to splutter forcing Cole to retire the kart at the first corner, the spark plug had failed which left Cole with a DNF for heat 1.

Next came heat two which saw Cole started again in P4. the race started and I seen myself in 4th, after having a tough battle with 3rd.. pushing myself to the limits I pushed abit too hard and ended up spinning on track.

Final-as a result from the bad finishes in the previous 2 heats Cole saw herself start from the back of the grid for the final. with some changes made to the kart as she nothing to lose Cole was hopping her strategy would work to get a podium finish. The flag dropped and Cole got herself into P2 on the first corner.. coming around to turn 4 Cole took P1 down the inside of Greg Elliot and continued to make them laps in 1st.. with all the pressure Cole had behind her from Elliot , it was a tough but great battle. Cole took the win home, after having a tough 2 heats, Cole was delighted with her podium finish.

Kayles would like to thank her dad(Mike Cole) her mechanic for the weekend, as she had a tough one trying to set up the kart, as a result of the weather but got there in the end.. her family and friends for all the support..

Wright Racing Engines for the amazing fisched built engine they recently got.. you done me good all weekend.
And everyone else that was there for me.
