Shane Burke Takes T4 Tiliston Motorsport Ireland Round 7 Win At Athboy

Shane Burke, from Summer Hill, County Meath, won Motorsport Ireland’s round 7 of the there 2019 Karting Championship. The race took place in Athboy Karting,  on the 18th of August.

Shane got into karting at an early age of 10 years. He became intrigued in racing karts at this early stage, as his dad John Burke raced. John raced a variety of race cars with Motorsport Ireland from Formula Ford to Karts and then Rallying.

Shane Competes in the T4 Tiliston class, this class had only nine entries this round which normally has around 13 entries.

Starting in pole position heat one went well for Shane, and took the win.

For heat two Shane started out the back of the grid, Shane worked his way up the grid picking off a majority of the field in one lap finishing a respectable P3 due to a penalty.

Then came the final where Shane started in P1 and pulled away from the field at a rapid pace with a 9.48 second lead.

Shane took the chequered flag in the final with celebrations across the line.
