Dubliner Michael Gray (9) Won Round 5 of the Motorsport Ireland Karting Championship, held at Adventure Park Kartworld, Watergrasshill, Cork on the 14th of July.

Competing in the Cadet Class (8-13), Round 5 was full of Motorsport Ireland’s Top Cadets, with close racing being the order of the day.

Starting Heat 1 in P9, Gray worked through the pack in the opening laps, Finishing P1 by the race’s end.

Starting Heat 2 in P8, an incident at the start of the race saw Gray drop as low as 12th. Gray steadily worked his way through the pack, finishing P1 at the chequered flag.

Starting P1 for the Pre-Final, Gray extended a small lead in the opening laps, with a small chasing pack in close pursuit. This pack caught up with Gray and an intense battle ensued in the final stages of the race. Gray lost the lead for a couple of corners on lap 11. Gray quickly regained the lead to finish P1 at the race end.

Starting P1 for the Final, Gray lead the Race from Start to Finish, making it Four Wins out of Four Races on the day.
