Impressive Michael Gray Takes MI Karting Round 2 Win In Tynagh

“Dubliner Michael Gray (9) won Round 2 of the Motorsport Ireland Karting Championship, held at Pallas Karting, Tynagh, Galway on the 12th of May.

Competing in the Cadet Class (8-13), Round 2 saw the largest amount of entries (27) in the Cadet Class for several years.

For Michael the qualifying heats were a mixed bag of results, finishing P4 in heat 1.

Making great progress in Heat 2, a racing incident dropped Michael all the way back to P24, before making a good recovery to P14 by the end of the heat.

Qualifying in P8 for the Pre-Final, Gray quickly worked his way through the pack and took the lead and win at the chequered flag.

Starting in P1 for the Final, a lead pack broke away from the rest of the field.

The lead pack were closely matched, with drafting and towing playing a large role in the Cadet Class at the Tynagh track.

Leading for all but 1 lap, Michael took the Final Win in this close race.
