The ‘The Trailer Company’ Fiesta ST Championship heads into its penultimate event of the 2018 season with its second triple header weekend, as it joins the support races for the annual Formula Vee Festival at Mondello Park this weekend July 7th & 8th.

For the second time this year Ireland’s premier one make saloon racing series will have an extended three round schedule as it returns to the Mondello Park National Track. Backed by Limerick based ‘The Trailer Company’, agents for the leading motorsport and commercial trailer manufacturers, ‘Brian James’, the series has enjoyed a spectacular season so far, with seven races on three different tracks producing five different winners. This weekend the Fiesta ST’s will be back in familiar territory as they pay their second visit of the year to the Mondello Park National Circuit.

Last time out the reversed version of the short Mondello Park track threw up some different results and left championship contenders David Maguire and ‘The Trailer Company’ backed Darragh McMullen with a championship mountain to climb, as they lost ground to series leader Michael Cullen. All three were involved in a first lap incident in the final race of the weekend, which saw Maguire retire and McMullen drop to the back of the field while Cullen fared better and was able to salvage a fourth place finish to open up a twenty seven point lead at the head of the championship.

This weekend the drivers will begin on Saturday morning with qualifying. which will be followed later that afternoon by their opening race. Returning on Sunday the second race will take place before lunch, with the top six finishers from race one reversed to form the front of the race two grid. Race three will see the positions swapped once again before the last of a tough three race schedule will be completed on Sunday afternoon.

The ‘The Trailer Company’ Fiesta ST championship can be followed through its facebook page and the Mondello Park web site, with live timing from this weekends’ event also available through timing.ie.
