2018 Formula Vee Festival In Aid Of LauraLynn Children’s Hospice At Mondello Park

The Irish Formula Vee Festival in aid of LauraLynn Children’s Hospice makes its annual return to Mondello Park on 07/08 July. Now in its sixth year of running, the event has grown to be the largest circuit racing event on the Mondello Park calendar with over 5000 people attending.

To date, the event has raised over €80,000 and this year hopes to push the total to over €100,000 for this great charity.

The family friendly event will include high octane passenger drift laps for the brave at heart, Scalextric racing, Formula car wheel change challenge and a Formula 1 car on display. Proceeds from programme ads and programme sales along with the proceeds of a charity auction (MC Leo Nulty of motorsport.ie fame) on Saturday night will see funds going directly to LauraLynn Children’s Hospice. In addition to the auction, there will be a barbeque on the Saturday night in the bar at Mondello Park. For the younger fans, there will be bouncy castles, clowns, face painting and balloon making on the Sunday to make sure this is a full family friendly event. Another fan favourite event returning for the festival is the Great Fiesta Push which sees teams of four compete against each other pushing a Ford Fiesta race car down the main straight.

The fun filled weekend will see the return of the UK Formula Vee championship to Ireland for the first time in almost 15 years. There will also be racing on both Saturday and Sunday from classes such as Micks Garage Future Classics, Open Endurance Series, Ford Fiestas, Strykers and more; all culminating in the Formula Vee Festival final on Sunday afternoon which will be a winner takes all race between Irish and UK drivers.

If you would like to help out or enquire about static displays, please don’t hesitate to contact a member of the Irish Formula Vee group through the website. There is also a link to the event on Facebook: (https://www.facebook.com/FormulaVeeFestival).
