Honda to take a “very high risk” strategy for 2017 ICE and power unit.

Following a more reliable, if not powerful unit in 2106, Honda has been given the freedom to redesign its power unit, with the focus on developing its internal combustion engine.  The plan is to harvest an increase in exhaust gas energy, which will give greater turbo boost.

In a bid, to close the gap to the front runners, and to bring Honda back to the its glory days of F1, the engine manufacturer has developed a concept with “very high risk”.

Does this mean Honda will turn down the performance at the beginning of the season with history repeating itself?

Will the McLaren be haunted by another unreliable power unit?

Time will tell, very soon!  F1 needs McLaren Honda to be competitive at the sharp end.
